Connect Churches

Ministry is better together, and through staff and district gatherings, the free Covenanter newsletter, a dynamic annual meeting, great regional events, and by celebrating and preaching at churches, the Central Conference enables shared ministry and relationships among its member churches and institutions.

Covenanter News

Through various ways, the Central Conference shares the stories of its churches and ministries for the benefit of our collective work in this region.

The complimentary Covenanter newsletter illustrates the work of the Conference through its churches and events, and is distributed directly to member churches several times each year.

Compassion, Mercy and Justice

CPP Program:

The City Produce Project program has packaged fresh, locally grown vegetables produced by the University of Illinois Extension program and private local farmers. By participating in the local nutrition education program, you will learn how to enjoy  and adapt them to your daily diet.

The City Produce project is designed to impact the growing problem of poor eating habits, obesity and diabetes in low income communities. It was conceived through a collaboration of research hospitals, health clinics, academics and agriculture industry representatives. Monsanto and the Illinois Corn Marketing Board are providing support for the project.

The vegetables are grown at private farms and at the University of Illinois Extension sites located in St. Charles, the Chicago Agriculture High School on the city's south side and land adjacent to the Cook County Jail. The Greater Chicago Food Depository is collecting the harvest and distributing it to designated pantries.
