The Central Conference of Evangelical Covenant Churches unites, plants, and strengthens more than one hundred churches of all shapes and sizes in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, eastern Missouri, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

2010 Central Conference Annual Meeting

The 124th annual meeting of the Central Conference will be held on Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Hope Covenant Church in Indianapolis, IN.  Our theme this year is "Living Our Affirmations." Details are on the "Annual Meeting" page of this website -- click on the blue "Annual Meeting button to your right.

We are also looking for prayer warriors who will keep our annual meeting and its preparations in their prayers all the way through the meeting.  You can find a week-by-week prayer list on the Annual Meeting page.

2010 Central Conference Compassion, Mercy and Justice Award

Each year at the Central Conference annual meeting, an award is given to a member of a Central Conference church who has given outstanding Christian service in the area of compassion, mercy and justice to his or her church and community

Letters announcing this year's award were sent to churches early this year, and can be found here as a PDF document.

Nominations must be receivd at the Central Conference office no later than March 2, 2010.  If you have any questions, please contact Rev. Debbie Griffith Samuels at 773-320-3234.

2010 Ministry Grants

The Central Conference will again offer a limited number of grants to Central Conference Covenant chuches for outreach-oriented ministries, through the Commission on Compassion, Mercy and Justice.  Detailed information and an application form can be found here.  All applications are due by April 2, 2010 to the Central Conference office.  If you have any questions, please contact Rev. Breakout 2010

Breakout 2010 is coming June 4-6, 2010 -- the Central Conference's weekend experience which seeks to inspire junior high students with the knowledge that they can be agents of hope and change in the Kingdom of God.  The event will take place on the campus of North Park University and in its surrounding neighborhoods.   Registration materials are now available!  You can find them at www.breakout2010.com, or click here to download a PDF file of the registration materials.  

4days4justice

North Park University and North Park Theological Seminary are hosting a four day series called 4days4justice April 14-17, 2010, at North Park University.  The series will provide the opportunity to engage in a dialogue on the theory and practice of justice with professors, pastors, and practitioners.  Keynote speakers include Andrea Smith, Peter Heltzel, Mimi Hadad, Terry LeBlanc, and Lisa Sharon Harper. Men of Hillcrest Develop "Moving" Ministry

DeKalb, IL -- The men's group of Hillcrest Covenant Church in DeKalb, IL has developed a new ministry that started by doing a favor to help Love INC.  Love INC is a local organization that connects churches with needs in the community, and they needed people to help move furniture out of an apartment of someone who wanted to donate that furniture to Love INC.  The men's group helped out, and ended out making that assistance a part of their ministry.  Click here to read the full article.

New Community Covenant Church Launches Satellite Church in Bronzeville

Chicago, IL -- New Community Covenant Church in Chicago held the first preview services of its new church plant in the Bronzeville neighborhood in Chicago on Sunday, February 7.  Nearly 100 people attended the inspiring worship service, held at Drake Elementary School.  Many activities are planned at this satellite church - details can be found on their website.  Congratulations!

Congregation's "Trailer Days" Give Way to New Building

Orland Park, IL -- For fourteen years, members of Hope Covenant Church stored worship equipment in a trailer and set it up every Sunday at the school where they met.  On January 31, the congregation dedicated its first permanent building - purchased with the help of Trinity Evangelical Covenant Church in Oak Lawn, Naperville Evangelical Covenant Church in Naperville, and National Covenant Properties.  Click here to read the full article.  Congratulations, Hope Covenant!
